LFG (Looking for Group)

A call to find teammates or a party for a specific game, mode, or activity.

LFG stands for "Looking for Group" — a term gamers use when they're searching for teammates to play with. You'll see it in Discord servers, Reddit posts, and in-game chat when someone needs to fill a squad or find a party for a specific activity.

Traditional LFG relies on posting a message and hoping the right person sees it at the right time. This approach is inefficient because it depends on timing, channel activity, and luck rather than matching based on skill level, playstyle, or game preferences.

Modern gaming social networks replace the LFG post with profile-based discovery, where players are matched automatically based on the games they play, their rank, and their availability.
